Civil Litigation Rules Revision Work Group

On April 7, 2021, the Court ordered publication of the proposed amendments to the Civil Rules, with the comment period to begin in January 2022 and end on April 30, 2022.  The proposed amendments can be found on the Court’s publication page under the heading “April 2021 – Proposed Rules Published for Comment.”

Civil Litigation Rules Revision Work Group

The WSBA Board of Governors (Board) formed the Civil Litigation Rules Revision Work Group (Work Group) in September 2019 to make changes to the proposed civil litigation rule amendments based on additional stakeholder input and report back to the Board of Governors

Work Group Charter

At the September 2020 Board meeting, the Work Group presented its suggested rules for consideration by the Board.  The Board approved the recommendations for submission to the Supreme Court.  For more information on the Work Group’s proposal, stakeholder comments, and a summary of stakeholder input, review the Memo from the Rules Revision Work Group Chair to the Board submitted to the Board for consideration in September 2020.
