Low-Cost and Free CLEs for New Lawyers

Learn the practical skills you need to excel in your field of law with continued legal education seminars for new lawyers.

Practice Primer CLEs

The WSBA Practice Primer takes a substantive area of law and develops a series of learning tracks that build upon one another. The 2025 Practice Primer Series will focus on Employment Law. This series will occur online only, 8:55-11:15 a.m., on the last three Wednesdays of January, February, and March 2025. More information and registration coming soon.

Trial Advocacy Program

The annual WSBA Trial Advocacy Program (TAP) offers a two-day trial skills training from seasoned trial lawyers and a one-day mock trial a few weeks later. This seminar is designed to give attorneys working in the criminal or civil arenas the skills to become effective trial lawyers. No trial experience is required to participate.

WSBA New Member Programs offers scholarships for new and young lawyers* to attend the TAP seminar and mock trial for free.

Financial Focus CLE

The annual Financial Focus program focuses on finance-related topics that are of interest to new and young lawyers. The 2024 Financial Focus program, Student Loans and Timekeeping 101, is available here for FREE to new Members for a limited time only.

Sections members become part of active professional communities and gain access to an array of exclusive section member benefits.
