The WSBA Board of Governors focuses on policy, leadership, strategy, and oversight of the organization. Service on the Board requires vision, leadership, diplomacy, and passion in pursuit of the WSBA's mission to serve the public and the members of the WSBA, to ensure the integrity of the legal profession and to champion justice.

Board of Governors Election Results

  • Congratulations to Governor Kari Petrasek, elected to serve as the 2025-2025 WSBA President-elect. The President-elect was elected by the Board of Governors at their May 2025 meeting. 
  • Congratulations to Governor Parvin Price, declared the winner for the Congressional District 1 Governor position. Governor Price will fulfill the remainder of this partial term; September 2025 - September 2027.
  • Congratulations to Governor Kari Petrasek, elected to serve a second term as Congressional District 2 Governor. The term for this position is September 2025–September 2028.
  • Congratulations to Governor Kevin Fay, declared the winner for the Congressional District 9 Governor position. The term for this position is September 2025–September 2028.
  • Congratulations to Governor Nam Nguyen, elected to serve a second term as Congressional District 10 Governor. The term for this position is September 2025–September 2028.

Notice of Upcoming Election: Governor At-Large

Meet the Candidates

The following individuals have submitted applications for the Governor At-Large Position:

  • Christopher Bhang (incumbent)
  • Uzma Hamid

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council shall forwarded two candidates who have a lived experience and knowledge of the needs of those members whose membership is or may be historically underrepresented in governance to the end that the Board of Governors will be a more diverse and representative body than the results of the election of Governors based solely on Congressional Districts may allow. Diversity refers to meaningful representation of, and equal opportunities for, individuals who have a lived experience as a member from one or more historically underrepresented communities in the legal profession. Underrepresentation encompasses and is not limited to, race, disability, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Term

Three-year term begins at the end of the September 2025 meeting of the Board of Governors and will end at the conclusion of the September 2028 meeting. 

Election

The election will be conducted through electronic ballot. The election will begin Thursday, May 15 and conclude on Monday, June 2. All Active WSBA members are eligible to vote.
