WSBA Names Allan Bonney Local Hero | March 7, 2024
Spokane, Wash., March 7, 2043 – The Washington State Bar Association today presented Spokane attorney Allan Aurlo Bonney with the Local Hero Award in recognition of his professionalism and commitment to volunteering in the legal community.
“Allan has distinguished himself though sharing his experience and services especially through the Spokane County Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Program and Eviction Defense Project,” said WSBA President Hunter Abell. “He represents a commitment to giving back, a professional ethic that we hold high at the Washington State Bar Association. He is a credit to our profession.”
The Local Hero Award is presented to those who have made noteworthy contributions to their communities and the legal profession. WSBA Executive Director Terra Nevitt presented Dickinson with the award at WSBA’s Board of Governors meeting at Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane March 7.
After earning his Juris Doctorate degree at Northwestern School of Law in Portland, Oregon, Bonney returned to his hometown of Spokane to embark on his legal career. Specializing in civil litigation, personal injury law, family law, and renters rights,
he has represented countless clients in state and federal courts throughout Washington.
“(He) has helped countless individuals understand the eviction process and the resources available to them since the eviction moratorium was lifted after the pandemic,” wrote attorney Kiel A. Frey, who nominated Bonney for the Local Hero Award. “…I've personally witnessed the above and have a great respect for this individual and his contributions to both our legal community and the greater Spokane community abroad.”
In addition to his legal practice, Bonney is actively involved in his community, volunteering his time and expertise to various charitable organizations and pro bono initiatives. He understands the importance of giving back and is deeply committed to making a positive impact beyond the courtroom.
