Jonathan Sprouffske Named Local Hero by the Washington State Bar | Dec. 8, 2023
OLYMPIA, WA, Dec. 8, 2023 — The Washington State Bar Association today presented Olympia attorney Jonathan Sprouffske with the Local Hero Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Thurston County community.
It is a privilege to recognize and honor Jonathan’s remarkable career and tremendous volunteer service with the Local Hero Award,” said WSBA President Hunter Abell. “From his service as an attorney, judge pro tem and court commissioner,
to his longstanding volunteering with groups like the Southeast Thurston Fire Authority, he truly is a local hero!”
The Local Hero Award is presented to those who have made noteworthy contributions to their communities. WSBA Executive Director Terra Nevitt presented Sprouffske with the award at the Thurston County Bar Association holiday lunch in Olympia on Dec. 8. The TCBA nominated Sprouffske for the award.
Among Jonathan’s many contributions to his community and the practice of law, he served on the Higher Education Coordinating Board, volunteered as an EMT, firefighter and Chair of the Board of Fire Commissioners since 2012, and works with his friends and colleagues to raise funds for groups including the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Thurston County VLS, and paying off school lunch debt at local elementary schools.
Sprouffske is an attorney and shareholder with the law firm Connolly Tacon & Meserve, with a practice focusing on estate planning, probate, and bankruptcy. A graduate from Rainier High School, St. Martin’s University, and Seattle University School of Law, Sprouffske has spent the entirety of his legal career in Thurston County—the community where he grew up.
