CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION
June 15, 2020
Presented by the education law attorneys from Cedar Law, this is the first installment of a four-part series on the complex and far-reaching practice of education law (the other programs will be held on June 29, July 13, and July 27). Part one of this Education Law CLE series focuses on state and federal constitutional law within the context of K-12 education. Students do not “shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.” Tinker v. Des Moines (U.S. 1969). And between football prayer circles, "Bong Hits 4 Jesus", Vietnam War protests, controversial student newspaper articles, and debate team election integrity, there is never a dull moment in this practice area servicing the "paramount duty of the state." Wash. Const., art. IX, § 1. Whether your interest in education law is as a practitioner, parent, member of the public, the attorneys from Cedar Law look forward to sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge of this engaging practice area with you.
