Lisa Lowe Receives WSBA's Local Hero Award │ July 27, 2018
VANCOUVER, WA [July 27, 2018] — The Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) has presented Alicia “Lisa” Lowe with its Local Hero Award for her exemplary service in Clark County.
The Local Hero Award is given to those who have made noteworthy contributions to their communities. WSBA President Bill Pickett will present the award at a luncheon on Friday, July 27, at the Hilton in Vancouver, Wash. Lowe was nominated by the Clark County Bar Association.
“I am very proud to tell people in the Clark County community that Lisa is my mentor,” said one of Lowe’s colleagues, Paige Spratt. “The amount of time and energy that Lisa puts into her work and the community makes you want to do and be better. She is truly a local hero.”
Lowe is an integral member of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in Vancouver and deeply enmeshed in her local community. She has served on a number of boards and committees, such as Columbia River Economic Development Council, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, and the Camas-Washougal Chamber Board of Directors, among others.
With more than 24 years of service with the Port of Vancouver, Lowe has been the port’s general counsel for more than 12 of those years and provides general counsel services to other ports as needed. She was the first non-Port employee to serve as chair of any Washington Public Ports Association committee. Lowe was also the first female chair of Identity Clark County, and a founder of Empower Women + Girls, which promotes and empowers women of all ages, and raises money for nonprofits that create programs to support women and girls.
“The legal industry is more than a profession to Lisa; she serves as a role model to an up-and-coming generation of women seeking to enter the legal industry,” Spratt said. “Lisa continues to inspire and motivate those of us around her to do better and be better in all aspects of our lives.”
